to the Metro Building Inspectors Association of Greater Grand Rapids website. Our association which is a Chapter of the International Code Council (ICC) represents building enforcement code officials and associated members who have a common interest in building codes and to provide to its’ members continuing education programs in the field of building code and their enforcement for the betterment of the people in the western Michigan they serve.

We hope you find the content and design of this site useful and helpful in getting information that will keep you up to date on the Chapter’s activities and events and other areas related to building codes.

2009 CODES:

Four 2009 codes (Bldg, Res, Rehab, & Energy) became effective March 09, 2011. These codes are (click to order the code books from ICC):

• 2009 Michigan Building Code
• 2009 Michigan Residential Code
• 2009 Michigan Rehabilitation Code for Existing Buildings
• 2009 Michigan Uniform Energy Code - Part 10 Residential (Rules Only, need IECC)
• 2009 Michigan Uniform Energy Code - Part 10a Commercial (Rules Only need IECC)
• 2009 IECC (free version now no longer available from ICC)
